Tóm tắt những đóng góp mới của luận án:

Đề tài luận án nghiên cứu vấn đề có tính mới và thời sự, có giá trị khoa học và thực tiễn cao. Đây là nghiên cứu đầu tiên đầy đủ với cỡ mẫu lớn về điều trị sâu răng bằng Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) cho trẻ 3 tuổi người dân tộc thiểu số tại một số tỉnh miền núi phía Bắc Việt Nam. Kết quả nghiên cứu đóng góp hữu ích cho thực hành lâm sàng cũng như đào tạo và nghiên cứu khoa học trong ngành Răng Hàm Mặt. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy: SDF có thể kiểm soát được các tổn thương sâu răng, giúp tổn thương sâu răng ngừng tiến triển và tái khoáng, phác đồ cung cấp SDF 6 tháng một lần giúp tăng cường hiệu quả kiểm soát bệnh tiến triển. Bên cạnh đó nghiên cứu cũng cho thấy tính an toàn của SDF khi sử dụng cho trẻ nhỏ một cách thích hợp, đúng liều lượng. Nghiên cứu cũng đưa ra được khuyến cáo về mức độ nghiêm trọng của bệnh sâu răng sớm, các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến sự xuất hiện cũng như phát triển của bệnh. Từ đó có thể đưa ra những khuyến cáo cho cộng đồng trong phòng và chữa bệnh.

Summary of new main scientific contribution of the thesis:

This thesis addresses a novel and timely issue, bearing significant scientific and practical value. It represents the first comprehensive large-scale study on the treatment of dental caries using Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) for 3-year-old ethnic minority children in some mountainous provinces in Northern Vietnam. The findings of the study provide valuable contributions to clinical practice as well as education and scientific research in the field of Odonto-Stomatology. The results demonstrate that SDF can effectively control carious lesions, arrest caries progression, and promote remineralization; Applying SDF every 6 months enhances the effectiveness of controlling disease progression. In addition, research also shows the safety of SDF when used for young children at appropriate doses. The study also provides recommendations regarding the severity of early childhood caries, identifying key factors influencing its onset and progression. These insights serve as a foundation for community-level recommendations on the prevention and management of dental caries.
